More Holistic Communication

Saturday, March 24th, 2007

The Director of the Office of Recovery, Ed Blakely, thinks New Orleanians ought to have a say in the recovery, but didn’t suggest how that goal of participation might be supported:

Blakely also said the parishwide process will be accessible to the public, not only in the name of government transparency but also as a means to build the confidence of New Orleanians. …

“What I get from people when I travel around (the city) is (that) they don’t know what’s going on, and that makes them anxious,” he said. “It’s very important that we get some kind of holistic communication. We have citizens, even here, who are thinking about, what am I going to do next?”

Free Radio New Orleans is an answer to the question of how citizens could share their ideas in a more public forum.
